In Trifles (1916), by Susan Glaspell, three men and two women arrive at an abandoned farmhouse to investigate a murder. While the men assume that John Wright's wife Minnie killed her husband and search in vain for a motive, the women look around downstairs at mere "trifles" and discover something that sheds important light on the matter -- and on the position of women in society.
Trifles is a one-act play that runs less than 30 minutes.
A post-show discussion with director Arminda Thomas follows at around 8:25pm.
Garrick Players will take over Forester Fridays Live this week.
Will they present a Play Fest? Or a Film Fest?
They do both! Check out performances from plays and presentations of short films.

Hello everyone! This is a reminder announcement that this Monday, Feb. 22 from 6:30-8:30, auditions will be occurring for Haunted Tales of Lake Forest! The play is about weird and mysterious stories and experiences from real students and alumni. All these stories are in their own words, and it is your job to tell the campus these creepy and unnerving stories! For this play there will be a much more relaxed rehearsal schedule. Every story will either have one actor or an actor reading 2-3 different stories depending on the audition pool. For this show, since it will be pre-recorded and has no large plot, you will be given total creative freedom to of where you film, how you film, what you potentially wear, etc. The story is in your hands! All we are looking for is actors who are willing to have fun and engage themselves creatively and are willing to tell stories! Please email lfcstagemanger@gmail.com to receive your time slot as well as the Zoom link for the audition. For this audition we would like to hear your personal 1–2-minute scary story. It can be real or fictional but if you have a creepy story, please share it with us! Depending, we may have you read a side as well. But don't fret too much. Come excited, creative, and ready to tell some ghost stories!
Rallying up all advocates, actors, supporters, and performers, Forester Fridays Live is seeking submissions for our first Variety show, Save the Theatre, on February 26th.
The theatre is going out of business! Help save the theatre by submitting your talents and show how important theatre is to the campus. It doesn’t even have to be about theatre.
This can be done by singing, doing a skit, performing an original spoken word, even just showing some amazing talent you have. The acts to save theatre can be anything of variety, no restriction by a concept. Just a cool time to show off while also doing a good deed!
Submissions must be received Friday, February 12th at 6 pm.
